Daughters of the King (DOK)

The Daughters of the King is a national order of women who are communicants of the Episcopal Church devoted to prayer, service, evangelism and the strengthening of the spiritual life of the parish. We strive to discern God's will for the St. Constance Chapter.

Our St. Constance Chapter sponsors a Mitten Tree at Christmas time for Shoebox Ministries.

As Daughters of the King, our focus is to pray in confidence for those in need, serve Christ with the gifts he has given us, and share our faith with others.

The DOK have been working on spiritual growth this year. We are growing in number and strength. We added six new members after our "Come and See" Social in the spring, and they were admitted to our Order in June.

Several of our members attended a retreat in Little Rock this summer.  Brenda Parks was one of the speakers, and she shared part of her spiritual journey with the women at the retreat. We sponsored our own Quiet Day in December as preparation for Advent.  This was led by Kaye Bernard from Fayetteville and was a wonderful day.

During our monthly meetings we have been taking turns sharing insights and inspirations from our spiritual journeys.  It is exciting to see God working in all of our lives.

Prayers for loved ones serving in the Military

As many of you may know, Daughters of the King pray as a group on an on-going basis for all who request our prayers.

These prayers can be for families, friends, neighbors or as large as peace in the world.  We would like to add to our ongoing prayer list the names of family members or loved ones who are serving in the military at this time, whether it be in Iraq, Afghanistan, or here at home.

If there are those who would like to share e-mail addresses of their loved ones, DOK would be honored to contact them personally to let them know that they are remembered in prayer on a regular basis.

It is our hope that these prayers will bring a measure of comfort and encouragement to those who serve country and to their loved ones at home.

Please send your prayer requests to Dianne Dawkins
