There are a few things in life that really upset me:

People who do not use their turn signals.

Trash along our highways.

Cruelty to children and animals.

Trash cans loaded with cardboard.

So this month we are going to talk about re-cycling cardboard.

Everyone understands about large containers and boxes that can be re-cycled.  Break them down into flat pieces that can be handled easily.  But what about all the other con-tainers that we purchase in our grocery shopping?

There are cereal boxes, cake mix boxes, then getting smaller we have toothpaste boxes, soap and over the counter drug containers. Everything that comes in a box – large or small – can be re-cycled, even the cardboard rolls under toilet paper and paper towels!

If you have children make it into a game and see how many boxes each one can break down for you. This way they can learn about re-cycling. Other-wise, do it your self. It doesn’t take very long, and you will feel good knowing that you are helping our earth. If your neighbors throw away a lot of cardboard, gently remind them that they too can re-cycle.
