Trunk or Treat!

Posted by Lana McDonald on

Halloween is coming soon.  We need some folks to help prepare for our traditional Trunk or Treat night on Saturday, October 31st  Below is a list of what needs to be done.  If you would like to help with this event, please sign up on the Trunk or Treat Committee sheet and we will have a meeting the 1st week in October to assign specific duties.
Activity Coordinator:  This person will be the main contact for all those working on the event to make sure everything is ready.
Put up signs:  Gary Creakbaum has found the signs that can be used again. The POA has to approve the sign that goes by Kingsland Road.
Getting cars:  Sign-up sheet will be posted.  This is the most important part.  Without trunks, there is no Trunk or Treat.
Gathering candy:  requests made on weekly e-mails & Sunday announcements
Getting hot dogs, cookies & drinks to be served to Trunk or Treaters & families.  Need 2 or 3 (or more) volunteers to get the food & drink, set up, prepare & serve.
Publicity - Cooper School will put half-sheet flyers in backpacks  for kids to take home.  Need someone to liaise with Cooper staff to find out when they want these flyers & how many.  Lana will make the flyers and deliver them to Cooper.
Newspapers - Need someone to get notice in local papers.
Positioning of cars:  Need 2 or 3 people to make sure cars are parked where needed.
If you think of anything else that needs to be addressed, please contact Lana.  In the meantime, please consider helping in some way.  This has always been a fun night, but it takes several people working together to make it a success.
