St. Anne's Guild: Our Annual Report

Posted by Leanne Brown on

St. Anne's Guild (Episcopal Church Women) includes every woman who attends our church. We meet the first Tuesday of every month (January-May and September-December). We encourage all women of the church to attend. Our meeting begins at 9:30 with a light brunch and social time followed by a special program, then a short business meeting.

Our bigger fundraiser of the year, the "Bakeless Bake Sale," occurs in March, and was very successful in 2013! We ask those to donate money rather than actually baking and selling. The money collected benefited both St. Theodore's and the following outreach organizations: Animal Shelter, Robert R. Brown Camp, Rose Cottage, and Pill Bottle Ministry for shipping.

The ECW for Northwest Arkansas Convocation was held April 20th where several of our members where involved in a meal and fashion show. We had a wonderful time!

We have started collecting can tabs for the Ronald McDonald house in Rogers. It benefits families with a child in the hospital by offering free overnight accommodations. A basket is in the hall next to the bulletin board.

We are still collecting clean pill bottles for the Matthew 25 Ministry. This basket is located in the hall next to the bulletin board as well.

We had a very nice turnout for our annual catered picnic held May 19th. Our venue changed this year and we were lucky to have it at Blowing Springs Park.

On July 20th, Lafayette House had a Blessing ceremony for the Rose Cottage in Joplin, MO. This provides a safe environment for women and children touched by abuse and addiction. Several of our members when to this event bringing $400 of household items.

Fall Gathering was held in Helena on October 25-26.

As part of our outreach program, we donated $700 to the following: Caring and Sharing, Quilts of Valor, TASC, Horses for Healing. In addition, "pig money" collected was given to the Bella Vista Animal Shelter.

In December, we decorated Sengel Hall and the Chrismon treee in the Narthex of the Church for all to enjoy.
