How to Give Monetary Assistance for Hurricane Harvey Relief
Many people want to know how they can assist in relief efforts for those affected by Hurricane Harvey. Right now the focus is on monetary assistance. Only time will tell what sort of human assistance will be needed in Texas and beyond. Today, the Episcopal Church in Arkansas is suggesting three ways people can give:
- Give to the Bishop’s Discretionary Fund (optional memo: “Emergency Relief Fund”), which will send 100% of the donations to the Diocese of Texas.
- Give directly to the Diocese of Texas through their website.
- Give to Episcopal Relief and Development, which will go to the larger relief effort across dioceses.
Thank you for your generosity toward those in need.
Shelter at Camp Mitchell
Camp Mitchell, the camp and conference center of the Diocese of Arkansas, will be open as a shelter for those evacuating due to Hurricane Harvey. Camp Mitchell is located in Morrilton, in central Arkansas. The camp has about 125 beds. Please call Robert Wetherington, camp co-director, at (228) 365-1633 if you are planning to come.
